Overview

A Promised Sword is a 2.5D action-adventure set in ancient China. It follows the tale of a powerful but dying fighter, known as the Artist, across the lands of China in hopes of fulfilling a childhood promise. The objective of the game is to progress through the level by platforming, solving puzzles and martial arts to defeat the enemies. The core feature of the game, besides its terrific combat, is the TRIGRAM system that allows the Artist to interact with various elements in the environment for offensive or navigational purposes.

 

Technical skills applied: C/C++, Visual Studio 2010/2012, DirectX, WxWidgets, AntTweakBar, XML

Responsibilities

  • Game level editor, serializing/deserializing game scene, Scene manipulation/editing, Game Entity editor, property editor

  • Maintaining level Editor

  • Gameplay Logics, character skills logic

  • In-game UI

  • Music and sound effects placement

  • Improved engine's Math Library

  • Improve Particle System/Create new particle effects
